As a survivor of domestic abuse, her journey inspired her to create Hagar’s Heart, a nonprofit dedicated to helping women rediscover their inherent worth. Through her own process of healing, Jennifer realized that self-worth comes from within and made it her mission to provide women in crisis with self-care tools, mental health resources, and a safe space to rebuild their confidence.

A Mission Born from Compassion

In May 2020, Jennifer’s desire to help women grew into a powerful initiative. A simple Facebook post led to 20 shoeboxes filled with luxury items for women in domestic violence shelters and flowers for children to present to their moms. What started as a small act of kindness blossomed into Hagar’s Heart, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit now supporting seven shelters across four counties in Texas. Their mission is clear: to show women that they are seen, valued, and loved—no matter their circumstances.

Growing Stronger Together

Hagar’s Heart has expanded from those humble shoeboxes into a comprehensive support system for women in need. From providing essential items like bikes, car seats, and meals, to offering emotional and mental health resources, Jennifer and her team ensure that no woman feels invisible. Through their "I See You" boxes, filled with self-care items and handwritten notes, nearly 1,000 women have received encouragement, reminding them that they are worthy of love and care.

A Vision for Long-Term Empowerment

Jennifer’s vision extends beyond emergency support. Hagar’s Heart is on a mission to become the go-to nonprofit for women in crisis in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. With initiatives like the Hagar’s Heart Pop Up Shop, where women can “shop” for new clothes donated by local boutiques, and their Mother’s/Women’s Day Brunch, where women are celebrated, the organization fosters both community and empowerment. Jennifer’s belief that healing is a marathon, not a sprint drives her unwavering commitment to uplifting women and providing lasting support.

From Santa’s Shack, where children and caseworkers can shop for gifts for women in shelters, to the Carry the Joy Fundraiser, which supports self-care needs, Jennifer creates spaces where women not only survive, but thrive. Her leadership and dedication make a lasting impact, helping women reclaim their strength, confidence, and lives.
